It takes a trip to a rural area to understand how much we have become dependent on technology. The fact that your cell phone does not have any network can leave you feeling vulnerable and stranded. You cannot call for help by simply whipping out your cell phone. Instead of doing as you please and hoping to get out of trouble later, you will have to take steps to avoid trouble in the first place.
If you are traveling to a place where network connectivity is not very strong, make sure you have the following things in your hand at all times.
A First Aid Kit
Calling 911 may not be an option when you were stuck in the interiors of a jungle. A nasty fall may leave your friend or relative injured and they may have no option but to use your first aid skills until you can reach a spot from where you can call for help. Not having a first aid kit in hand can leave you completely defenseless. Make sure that the first aid kit contains all the essential medications that are required to prevent a minor injury from becoming a major problem.
Pepper Spray
This is a very useful option if you are traveling to an unknown place without any company or protection. If you cannot rely on network connectivity to call for help, the best option is to have safety measures that will secure your body and physical safety without any complications. If you are going to travel over long distances without any communication option, having a pepper spray can in your hand will provide extra safety.
